For Prospective Students

The College of Engineering and BOLD Center provide a variety of events for prospective high school students interested in CU-Engineering. Browse the different types of programs we offer below, or for a complete schedule, see the calendar. All programs are free of cost unless otherwise noted. Diversity Sampler
Held at the start of the spring semester, Diversity Sampler is a campus-wide program to provide students from diverse backgrounds and their families a chance to explore the many opportunities and resources available at CU-Boulder. Featuring:

  • Resource fair to learn about clubs, organizations, and other campus offices
  • Sample lecture
  • Opportunities to meet with college representatives and current students
  • Special Engineering sections and luncheon for students interested in Engineering

Student for a Day (SFAD)
 Student For A Day - a visit program at the University of Colorado Boulder CU-Boulder’s Student for a Day program provides you and your family with the opportunity to attend a sample lecture, take a walking tour of CU-Boulder, attend a panel discussion, meet with campus representatives, and eat lunch on campus. Program Fee: $20 per person program fee payable by cash or check at check-in. This fee covers parking, light refreshments in the morning and an all-you-care-to-eat lunch in one of our campus dining halls.To sign up for one of these events, visit the Undergraduate Admissions website.
The best way for you to get to know CU-Boulder is to come and visit. The College of Engineering and Applied Science offers a variety of tours and open house programs for prospective students and parents. These programs give you an opportunity to personally speak with our faculty, staff, and students, and to get an idea of what programs might interest you at CU-Boulder. Explore Engineering Days
Held during the fall semester, the popular Girls Explore Engineering and Minorities Explore Engineering visit days are open to high school juniors and seniors who would like to learn more about engineering and CU-Boulder. These events feature:

  • Hands-on design activity
  • Lunch in CU’s NEW dining hall
  • Research lab tours and demos
  • Information on the College of Engineering, scholarships, financial aid and more
  • Raffle drawing for cool CU gear

Engineering Sampler
Held in the fall semester, the popular CU-Boulder Engineering Sampler provides you and your family the opportunity to tour the engineering facilities, explore academic and career choices with the deans and faculty, and meet current students.
